Stay Surrendered

SCRIPTURE
John 5:19 NLT So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

NUGGET
I have noticed that the more I surrender to Jesus, the stronger I become. And the more I try to do things myself, the more I exhausted I get! This is because we aren’t designed to do life on our own. We were created to walk with our Creator, and to have continual fellowship with Him. Surrender is not the American way, but it is the Believer’s way. Handing over our control to Jesus propels us into trust and partnership rather than self-reliance and ego. It is absolutely freeing to not carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, but instead, to partner with the One who can! Surrender isn’t apathy or non-responsibility. It’s listening, obeying, trusting, and coming open-handed and open-hearted to the Lord.

ACTIVATION
Whisper a prayer of surrender today. Physically open your hands and invite the Lord to have His way in your life. He is absolutely trustworthy! Read the words to that old Hymn, “Have Thine Own Way, Lord.”

PRAYER
Jesus, have Your perfect way in me. Make me more like You everyday. Let me experience the strength and joy of surrendering to You. Help me to stay surrendered.
