Faith In Action

SCRIPTURE
James 2:17-18 NLT So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

NUGGET
In the dictionary “faith” is commonly classified as a noun meaning to have trust, confidence, belief in something or someone. But I like to think of it as an “action-noun”. Faith in God and His will is not passive, it is active. It implies action that must be taken, not simply something we put on like a jacket on our way out the door. It requires daily commitment to move from places of unbelief to places of believing and doing. As we walk in that faith, the Holy Spirit moves us to act as His hands and feet in the world around us.

ACTIVATION
Ask God to show you where you are needed today. When He reveals it be ready to act. Your faithfulness in the moment might be just the thing someone needs to renew their faith in Him.

PRAYER
Mighty God, lead me to trust Your guidance today. Thank You for the examples of faithfulness and good works You have demonstrated that help me to put my faith into action.
