SCRIPTURE
Psalm 30:11 NLT You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
NUGGET
This is not comprehensive by any means, but let me give you 3 quick-grab tools for when you hit a wall of depression. First, give thanks. When you’re feeling depressed the only thing that feels natural is dark, complaining thoughts. Lead with your mouth. Push aside complaints and defeated thoughts by giving thanks out loud instead. Second, do one thing for someone else. Anything. Take one step, do one thing - regardless of how you feel. Third, get some exercise. Take a walk, punch a pillow, ride a bike, or stretch next to a pond. Do something healthy with that negative energy. It is surprisingly helpful!
ACTIVATION
Your feelings are valuable and important, but they don’t make great leaders. Lead with your words and mouth. Speak Scripture if you don’t know what to say. We have loads of resources for listening to Scripture as well. Check out any of our “WordWash” or Meditations videos.
PRAYER
Thank You Papa for seeing my sadness. You know me and love me just the same. Dispatch your angels to fight for me and with me in this battle against depression. I agree with You that my best days are still ahead. Show me my part of the battle today, and empower me to partner with You.
