Take Every Thought Captive
SCRIPTURE
2 Cor 10:4-5 NIV The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
NUGGET
We have an enemy that lies to us. If he can get us to fall for his lies, he can damage our relationships, how we feel about ourselves, how we feel about God and what He's called us to. He comes to steal, kill and destroy and it often starts with a lie. This is why it's so important to take our thoughts captive. We do that by renewing our minds to the Word every day so that we recognize the truth from a lie.
ACTIVATION
As you go through the day, think about what you are thinking about. Do your thoughts line up with the Word or is there a lie the enemy is trying to get you to buy into? Take any false thought captive by refuting it with a scripture that declares the truth!
PRAYER
Holy Spirit, I invite you to prompt me when I have a thought that is counter to the truth. Show me scripture that I can use to tear down that lie and defeat the enemy. Help me every day to renew my mind to Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
